Customs data: China's import of dairy products increased across the board in 2018

Among them, the imports of the three largest categories of products, big package powder, whey powder and infant formula powder, increased by 11.6%, 5.2%, and 9.6%, respectively. According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs, China imported a total of 2.64 million tons of various dairy products in 2018, an increase of 6.7% year-on-year, and the import value was 10.1 billion US dollars, accounting for about 20% of domestic dairy product sales revenue, an increase of 14.3% year-on-year. Dairy products were 1.93 million tons, an increase of 9.2% year-on-year, and the import value was US $ 9.1 billion, an increase of 15.7% year-on-year. Imported liquid milk was 700,000 tons, an increase of 0.3% year-on-year, and the import value was US $ 1 billion, an increase of 2.9% year-on-year.

Milk

In 2018, the import of whey and its products was 560,000 tons, an increase of 5.2% year-on-year, the import value was US $ 600 million, a year-on-year decrease of 4.9%, and the price was US $ 1137 / ton, a year-on-year decrease of 9.6%, mainly from the United States accounting for 47% and the European Union accounting for 38.2% .

 

Milk

In 2018, 110,000 tons of cheese were imported, an increase of 0.3% year-on-year. The import value was US $ 500 million, an increase of 3.1% year-on-year. The price was US $ 4739 / ton, an increase of 2.9% year-on-year.

 

Packed milk

In 2018, imported packaged milk was 670,000 tons, an increase of 0.9% year-on-year, the import value was 900 million US dollars, an increase of 3.8% year-on-year, and the price was 1,355 US dollars / ton, an increase of 2.9% year-on-year, mainly from the European Union accounted for 51.1%, New Zealand accounted for 34.6%, Australia accounted for 12%.
